victorian home tour

I apologise that 5-post weeks are a rarity at the moment. The truth is that days don’t currently have enough hours in them in order for me to tackle my ‘To Do’ list in its entirety (don’t organise a wedding, move home and move jobs at the same time… just don’t), and sadly my beloved blog is feeling the brunt of it. As always, I will do my best. Today’s post is a home tour that I’m really excited about showing you. Now, do you and your partner have differing interior tastes? Like, polar opposite differing interior tastes? Good, because this might help you. I love vintage, Tom loves modern, so whilst he drools over stainless steel kitchens, I go ga-ga over one-of-a-kind French dressers. You see the dilemma. But this Victorian semi seems to combine both traits, with subway tiles and cornicing for me, and folding patios doors and sleek shower fittings for him. Perfection. What do you think of this look?

cannes fashion week

Checking out the A-list’s fashion choices at Cannes is like a sport to me. Every year I eagerly await this joyous week, knowing that the stars are gonna pull out all the stops. And this year, it’s even more exciting because Kruger, my no.1 style crush, is a member of this year’s Jury. I don’t know what this means in terms of her job description (although I’ll bet it’s more glamourous than regular jury duty), but what I do know is that she’s going to be hitting the red carpet… a lot. And she’s already given us a taster by blowing away the competition in mint Giambattista Valli. If she starts parading Pacey in front of the paps on top of wearing beauties like this, I think I’ll die of happiness.

I mean, seriously.

To celebrate the start of Celebs-on-Sea Week, here are some of my favourite looks from Cannes gone by:

interior inspiration ~ blue & coral

I’ve currently got a massive craving for coral. During a recent shopping trip I found myself homing in on anything remotely related to the colour. So when I saw this interior on Pinterest, it made me instantly want to turn it into an outfit based around coral jeans… and you know what? It’s turned out pretty peachy! It also makes me desperate to invest in that stunning DVF scarf. Tell me, lovely readers, would you wear this room?

friday pinspiration

This week’s been a super-busy one, and this weekend will be no different… there’s definitely some celebrating on the cards, since today is Tom’s birthday! One year older, but still not touching thirty. Damn these young ‘uns. Looking forward to heading home to the Shire for some family time. Today’s post is just a quickie – one of my Pinterest boards is simply called ‘Made Me Smile’. It’s a collection of images that did just that, and if I’m having one of those days when things get on top of me, it cheers me up. Such is the magic of Pinterest (what on earth did we do without it?). Here are the last four that I pinned… there’s no rhyme or reason to them, just thought I’d share them with you on the off-chance you’d feel the same. Happy weekend all.

hot trend: coloured jeans

So it used to be that I was jealous of Jessica Alba’s ridonkulous body… now it’s her one-in-every-colour jeans collection. Ok, and her body (the woman’s had two children for chrissakes, there’s gotta be witchcraft involved). Anyway, back to her bright skinnies, they just make me happy. She colour-blocks, mixes with black, white and neutrals, and generally rocks every look. The brightest pair I own are a rather fetching maroon – word of warning though, they’re kind of a man repeller, I think my fiancé finds them a little ‘children’s TV presenter’ for his taste – but Alba really makes me want to take it a step further. What do you think? Are you on board with this trend?
