elegant spanish villa

The beautiful Madrid home of decorator Isabel López-Quesada appealed to me for a number of reasons. Firstly, the huge windows along with the light walls and floors allows for an extremely light and airy feel, and I love her use of plants and flowers to brings the outside in. I’m seriously drooling over the ornate fireplaces and combination of fabric textures… and that bathroom? Who wouldn’t want to laze around in that for a good hour? As for the outside terrace; that + a sangria = heaven:

march wish list

Happy Monday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend, especially all the mums (like mine, who is a superstar). Every two months or so I like to compile a wish list of the things that have caught my eye online (see here, here & here), and my March must-haves include a look-a-like Céline bag (see here) at a fraction of the price, a sequin jacket that would glam up even the most casual of outfits and the latest from my favourite author. What is currently on your ‘most coveted’ list?

{1. Aldo Hipps handbag – £50 / 2. Kate Spade iphone case – $40 / 3. French Connection pearl queen jacket – £300 / 4. Zara biker ankle boot – £69.99 / 5. Anthropologie Rhys ottoman – £898 / 6. Anthropologie simpatico hobnail candle – £24 / 7. Rose & Grey le soleil print – £55 / 8. Lemonlu London ottoman gold droplet necklace – £150 / 9. Yumi Polly 60s lace dress – £59 / 10. John Lewis Sanderson Honfleur rug – £415 / 11. Jane Green The Patchwork Marriage – £8.44 / 12. Kendra Scott Laurel earrings – $70}

velvety goodness

My love of velvet sofas is starting to get out of control… it’s verging on the unhealthy. Although I would be quite happy with one in any colour (in fact this very afternoon I was given some very strange looks in Oliver Bonas for gazing at their velvet tub chair and stroking the colour swatches for longer than is considered normal), I think I’m drawn the most to the grey and navy versions with bright contrasting cushions. And I’m gonna need a buttoned ottoman too. I think I need help.

style stalker: mollie king

Since the girl group, The Saturdays, came on the scene their style has massively evolved. I guess most girl ensembles always starts off dressing for the boys in, well, not a lot, but they are now definitely dressing for the girls. For me, Mollie King is the stand-out fashion queen in a very accessible kinda way. She often dresses head-to-toe in River Island, Topshop or French Connection, and is a huge fan of the tan accessory. If her LFW wardrobe this year was anything to go by, I hope that she will grace many a F-ROW in the future:

Here is a selection of classic pieces and a bright sundress thrown in for good measure that will give you the ultra-girly yet sophisticated look that Mollie emulates:

{1. French Connection Animal Instincts dress – £110 / 2. Oasis cherry jeans – £45 / 3. Dorothy Perkins lace dress – £20 / 4. Zara shopper bag – £39.99 / 5. Carvela tan sandals – £95 / 6. Linea crepe jacket – £70 / 7. Topshop square sunglasses – £16 / 8. Essie Carousel nail polish – £6.95 / 9. Vila Rayuska pleated chiffon dress – £44.99 / 10. Maggie and Me short sleeved jumper – £20 / 11. LK Bennett Bluebel bag – £325 / 12. Dorothy Perkins buckle belt – £5}

a lighter shade of grey

Welcome to a new week everyone… I hope you’ve all had a good weekend. Sorry I’ve been off the radar for a few days, it’s been a particularly demanding moment of my events career. Relieved to say that it’s now passed. So for today’s post I wanted to show you a trend that is very apparent in my Pinterest ‘interiors’ board. I hadn’t realised how much I love grey decor. I’m serious, we’re talking practically every pin. There’s an elegance and calmness about the colour when it’s featured in a home, and just glancing over the pictures below makes me smile. Is there a specific colour or theme that you gravitate to when it comes to decorating or collecting inspiration?
