fancy {good} friday

For those of you in the UK, how amazing is a 4-day weekend?! Although I intend to relax and unwind as much as possible, weddings will also be a theme of the next few days. Tom and I are attending a wedding in the Shire on Sunday (oh, I do love a good wedding), as well as sorting out details for our own nuptials, which are just 5.5 short months away. Sweet lord. Better get on that. How about you? Any exciting plans for the extended break? Are you as inspired as I am to paint some eggs in one of my favourite colour combos (see here) of pink and gold?

Now, Brooklyn is a tricky one. Sometimes, I have to say, she looks a hot mess. But when she gets it right, boy does she blow it out the water. Like here… how amazingly elegant does she look? Sleek in Stella, with a gold belt to add interest and simple hair to keep the dress the star of the show. As for my room of the week, the preppiness pulled at my heart strings. The combo of the grey door frames, white wainscoting and some cheeky ikat meant that I was a gonner:

I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you’re doing and wherever you may be…

blog crush: the everygirl

I have a routine of websites and blogs that I read every evening… in fact the list is so long, that it takes a good couple of hours to “do the rounds”. One of my favourite new additions is The Everygirl. She has that killer combination of style and substance, and is packed to the brim with inspiration which makes me want to work harder, be healthier and just generally push that little bit harder in all aspects of life. Not to mention look sharp whilst doing it. Here are a few images that show why I keep coming back for more:

And it’s no wonder The Everygirl is so stylish. Check out the homes of the co-founders, here and here.

a place in the sun

At the moment things are a little crazy… as I mentioned here, this year is full of changes and new beginnings, and as massively exciting as they are, it doesn’t really leave a whole lot of room for downtime. Again, definitely not complaining. But sometimes… just sometimes… I look at images like the ones below and think, “Well. Wouldn’t that be perfection.” And I HAVE to stop clicking on the celebs-on-holiday stories in the Daily Mail.

I know. I need that chevron beach towel too. Available here.

Maybe it’s because they’ve got a touch of the Blair Waldorf’s about them (please can we not mention Blair chosing Dan over Chuck last night, I can’t cope), but I am currently craving a bouclé jacket… specifically from Zara. The Spanish export is having another amazing season, and it’s almost impossible to go into that store these days without sitting on the floor having a tantrum of toddler proportions because I can’t have everything in there that I want. But top of the list is one of these Chanel-esque jackets. With that tricky ‘to-coat-or-not-to-coat’ period ahead, they are the perfect way to take you into summer, shiver-free:

words of wisdom

Just a quick one to finish the week with, my friends. The über-talented Erin Hung of BerinMade created this print (first image), and I couldn’t agree with the sentiment more:

I hope you have a blissful weekend whatever you’re doing and wherever you may be…
