“who are you wearing?”

The Help was the outright winner at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, however the competition on the red carpet was a more closely contested affair. Following the Golden Globes, I have to say that once again I wasn’t blown away by the fashion choices. Yes, the ladies looked scrubbed up to perfection (and sitting here in a hoodie and trackies, who am I really to pass judgement), but no one stood out particularly. And annoying, no one got it spectacularly wrong. I suspect choices of gown were not left to a 2-year-old this time. Up there for my best dressed, at a push, was Michelle Williams, who fared far better in scarlet Valentino than she did at the Globes in the devore velvet Jason Wu disaster. I also thought that Dianna Agron looked stunning in Carolina Herrera and a Grecian up-do. There was a lot more colour on this red carpet, which made a nice change from the snoozeville nude army, but nothing came close to Kunis in McQueen last year (see here).

So, Brange Does Red Carpet, round two. Firstly, Brad in Balenciaga? Hot, hotty, hot. But dude, the hair’s gotta go. We’re veering perilously close to Nicky Clarke territory. As for Angie… hmm, I see this and I remember that I need to take the bins out. Ok, so she’d look good in a 99p refuse sack from the corner shop, but this is Jenny Packham for crying out loud. Packham does not a Duchess make. The Oscars are just around the corner, Ange… game face.

totes amaze

Following my post yesterday on Blair’s Atlantic-Pacific style, I can’t stop thinking about her Céline Boston tote. And staring at pictures of them. And dribbling slightly. And wishing that a) they weren’t practically sold out unless you’re a big A-lister, or b) I had a spare £1,500. I’ve been a Mulberry Bayswater girl for years (Mulberry, I still love you… I’m just window shopping), and the simple, clean elegance of this particular Céline beauty kinda reminds me of them. One day, she will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine.

Leighton has one. ERGO, I need one.

spotlight on: atlantic-pacific

If you’re a blog junkie like me then you’ll know all about Blair over at Atlantic-Pacific. Her almost-daily outfits and effortless yet unique style bring in big crowds, and it’s easy to see why. She combines preppy with quirky with full-on glamour, and no one does a print or pattern quite like Blair. Plus, she has a love affair with her Céline bag (I fell head over heels with the orange version in Berlin – see here) and I feel exactly the same about my Mulberry. When I grow up, can I please be just like Blair?

Tell me, dear readers, are you a fan of Blair’s style?

january wish list

How was your weekend folks? Mine was lovely and relaxed, as hoped, including another Monday off. It’s definitely the way to go. I have a certain number of days leave to take before my current contract is up in mid-March, and as far as I’m concerned there’s nothing better than a Sunday evening when you know that there’s no work in the morning. Happy days. Following on from my last two ‘Currently Craving’ posts (see here and here), this year I’m coveting some neutral with a pop of pink, some sparkle and a classic Pride and Prejudice quote. What’s on your January wish list?

fancy friday

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you’ve all had lovely weeks. Do you have anything exciting planned for this weekend? I’m looking forward to a relatively quiet one, meeting with some friends here and there… the majority of it will be spent gazing at the new jewel on my finger (see here). Safe to say I’m obsessed. Speaking of obsessed, I have another interior fixation: pendants. I love the slightly industrial feel they bring and the contrast of the metallic finish against sparkling white kitchens. A kitchen island with copper pendants would be my absolute DREAM, especially if purchased from a certain Tom Dixon. Uh-may-zing.

For my look of the week, I’ve gone for the Bombshell Du Jour, Amber Heard. I mean, seriously. She’s like ScarJo, but hotter. She wore a rose gold sequin Donna Karan to the 2012 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, and other attendees didn’t even come close… and they included my red carpet faves, Bilson and Belle. It’s old Hollywood glamour done so well. As for my room of the week, the award goes to Michael Bublé’s bedroom. Be still my beating heart, check out the nailhead trim. That’s all.

I hope you have an beautiful weekend whatever you’re doing and wherever you may be…
