a place in the sun

At the moment things are a little crazy… as I mentioned here, this year is full of changes and new beginnings, and as massively exciting as they are, it doesn’t really leave a whole lot of room for downtime. Again, definitely not complaining. But sometimes… just sometimes… I look at images like the ones below and think, “Well. Wouldn’t that be perfection.” And I HAVE to stop clicking on the celebs-on-holiday stories in the Daily Mail.

I know. I need that chevron beach towel too. Available here.

words of wisdom

Just a quick one to finish the week with, my friends. The über-talented Erin Hung of BerinMade created this print (first image), and I couldn’t agree with the sentiment more:

I hope you have a blissful weekend whatever you’re doing and wherever you may be…

words of wisdom

Sorry I can’t write a longer post for today, but I just wanted to leave you a message for the weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge worrier and I over-think things way too much. Therefore this quote is exactly what I need to focus on. I’m working on the first part and the second part is a done deal:

Have a lovely weekend, folks, doing things that make you happy and spending time with the people who make you happy…

my weekend in pictures

On Saturday evening the snow arrived… and boy, did it fall. So I decided that in the circumstances, hibernation was the only option. My weekend involved Mr Clooney (I thought The Descendants was a rom-com. Not so much), homemade soup, a much appreciated present, and lots of blankets. How was yours?

christmas time in berlin

Did you all have fun at New Year’s? Ours was pretty low key since Tom had to work during the night, but it was nice to stay in our cosy little flat and watch movies. How amazing were London’s fireworks?! I was absolutely blown away by the TV coverage. Onto today’s post and I wanted to show you a few pics from our recent trip to Berlin. The Christmas markets and decorations were bigger and better than ever, and despite the biting temperatures, a mug or two of Glühwein was enough to ward off the cold. We took a riverboat tour, visited the Zoo (the big cats were definitely my fave inhabitants), drooled over Hermès at KaDeWa, toasted our engagement at a Moët bar (you can never toast too much), ate far too many Nutella crêpes, and just generally soaked in the amazing atmosphere. Here are a few highlights that make me smile from the memory:

Gotta love Santa on the Segway. That’s just how he rolls over there.
