I love discovering new artists who produce the kind of paintings that I can imagine basing a whole room design around. Thanks to the genius website Degree Art, I’ve found a couple of beauties. Firstly there’s Sevan Garo, who reminds me very much of one of my favourites, Michelle Armas. That fourth painting down is uh-may-zing… I can just imagine it accompanying a fuchsia velvet sofa with turquoise accents. That’s happiness to me, right there. Then there’s Wendy Hyde who celebrates colour to the nth degree. Her paintings have an almost dream-like quality and, again, all I want to do is decorate around them. Tell me, lovely readers, are these young artists floating your boat?

I love fun style abstracts with lots of color. I bet you’d liked Rick Stevens’ work too. I found him a few years ago on a trip to Santa Fe at Hunter Kirkland. I was lucky enough to get one of his pieces that now hangs above my fireplace. Here’s their website link if you want to check it out.
